Many of the residents living along the road complain about the traffic and clogging of their roads by tourists. In response to the complaints, the City of Los Angeles has repaved the lower portion of the trail and removed a chain-link fence. During the day, you can enjoy the peaceful, secluded nature of this hike.
Another option is to make the longer trip to Mt. Hollywood Hiking Trail. Starting in the Griffith Observatory parking lot, the trail gradually climbs over Griffith Park, and offers 360 degree views.
